Guangzhou Medical University

Respiratory medicine leadership with clinical training across Guangzhou’s hospital network

Founded in 1958, Guangzhou Medical University (GMU) is a public medical university and a member of China’s Double First-Class initiative. Its Panyu and Yuexiu campuses connect academic study with a network of 15 affiliated hospitals, giving medical students access to broad clinical settings in one of southern China’s largest healthcare markets. GMU is particularly distinguished in respiratory medicine through the State Key Laboratory of Respiratory Disease, the Guangzhou Institute of Respiratory Health and the National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Disease. International applicants can pursue a six-year English-medium MBBS, while Chinese-taught graduate study spans clinical medicine, basic medicine, public health and pharmacy. Guangzhou’s position in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area further supports exposure to public health, biotechnology and cross-border medical collaboration.
