Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU) was founded in 1953 and is a provincially administered medical university jointly developed by Zhejiang Province, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Ministry of Education. Its academic range extends from Chinese medicine, acupuncture and Chinese pharmacy to clinical medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, public health, audiology and biomedical science. More than 26,000 full-time students study across the Binwen and Fuchun campuses, including over 6,000 postgraduate students and more than 1,600 international degree students. Teaching is closely connected to three directly affiliated hospitals and 20 indirectly affiliated hospitals, giving medical students access to substantial clinical environments. Six fields — Clinical Medicine, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Biology and Biochemistry, Agricultural Sciences, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and Chemistry — are listed among the global top 1% in ESI. What you need to apply to Zhejiang Chinese Medical University as an international student.

  • Academic RequirementsBachelor’s applicants must be non-Chinese citizens under 35 with a senior high school diploma. Master’s applicants need a relevant bachelor’s degree; doctoral applicants need a relevant master’s degree.
  • Language RequirementsChinese-taught programs require HSK Level 4. English-taught thresholds are program-specific and generally range from IELTS 5.5–6.0, TOEFL 80–86 or Duolingo 95–110; native speakers and applicants educated in English may qualify for a waiver.
  • Entrance AssessmentUndergraduate applicants submit the required CSCA score report. The university may also arrange document review, an online interview or another program-specific assessment.
  • Bachelor’s DocumentsOnline application form, passport, white-background photo, notarized high school diploma and transcripts, physical examination, police clearance and a self-introduction video.
  • Graduate DocumentsPassport, highest diploma and full transcripts, two professor or associate-professor recommendations, a personal statement and research plan of at least 1,000 words, language evidence, medical form and police clearance.
